State Treasurer Curtis Loftis Announces Future Scholar ConGRADulations Sweepstakes
Staff Report From South Carolina CEO
Friday, May 8th, 2020
State Treasurer Curtis Loftis announced today the launch of the 2020 Future Scholar ConGRADulations Sweepstakes. Twenty members of the Class of 2020 from South Carolina high schools will have a chance to win a privately funded $529 Future Scholar grant for their future education expenses.
Now through May 25, families are invited to enter the ConGRADulations sweepstakes by posting a photo or video of their Class of 2020 high school graduate on their Facebook page, using the hashtag #FutureScholarConGRADulations2020.
“May is a time of reflection and celebration for high school seniors completing classes and looking forward to graduation. Unfortunately, this important milestone has been disrupted this year,” explained Treasurer Loftis, who serves as administrator of South Carolina’s Future Scholar College Savings Plan. “I understand the hard work and sacrifices our South Carolina students and their families have made to get to this point. That’s why we want to help families celebrate their high school graduates virtually and to honor the Class of 2020 by providing 20 lucky graduates with a $529 grant.”
To enter the contest, parents or legal guardians post a public image or video message of a South Carolina graduating high school senior on their personal Facebook page with a congratulatory message and the hashtag #FutureScholarConGRADulations2020. In addition, entrants need to tag the nominee in the post and follow or “like” the State Treasurer’s Office Facebook page.
On May 27, 20 entrants will be randomly selected to win a privately funded $529 Future Scholar grant to apply to their upcoming education expenses.
Entrants must be the parent or legal guardian of a current or potential Future Scholar beneficiary and a South Carolina resident. For more on the official rules, visit futurescholar.com/congradulations.
