Like many in the community, Jim and Rebecca Schaper were searching for ways to help health care workers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
They found it in The Helpers Fund.
The couple donated $25,000 to The Helpers Fund, operated by the Tidelands Health Foundation, to support the health system’s mission and make an immediate and lasting impact on the delivery of quality health care in our community.
“Jim and I felt a need to help the community during these difficult times,” Rebecca Schaper said. “We know that our donation to The Helpers Fund will directly support the caregivers on the front lines making sacrifices amid the COVID-19 pandemic to serve our community with compassion and care.”
Donations to The Helpers Fund will help purchase needed equipment and supplies, provide assistance for Tidelands Health team members, support the delivery of care for the uninsured and medically underserved and more.
“Our team at Tidelands Health is so grateful to the Schapers for their generous donation to The Helpers Fund,” said Jessica Sasser, executive director of the Tidelands Health Foundation. “This donation will directly support our team members as they work tirelessly during this unprecedented time.”
Those wishing to give can donate any amount they choose or select amounts between $5 and $2,500 and see a representation of how their donation may be used.
