Governor McMaster Issues Proclamation Recognizing National Manufacturing Day and South Carolina Manufacturing Week

In recognition of the importance of the manufacturing industry in South Carolina, Governor Henry McMaster issued a proclamation recognizing National Manufacturing Day on October 2, 2024 and declaring the week of October 5-9, 2020 as South Carolina Manufacturing Week.
"South Carolina's reputation as a location where manufacturing thrives is well known throughout the nation and world," said Governor McMaster. "Our innovative manufacturers and exceptional workforce are key drivers in strengthening our economy and creating opportunities for South Carolinians."
Governor McMaster made the announcement along with the leadership and members of the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance at Pure Power Technologies in Blythewood, SC. The company employs more than 300 highly skilled associates at their Blythewood Manufacturing Plant and Columbia Technical Center, where they design and build their precision diesel products.
"South Carolina's manufacturing sector has long been a key driver of our state's economy," said Sara Hazzard, President and CEO of the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance. "Manufacturing creates economic prosperity and opportunities benefiting communities across our state. We are proud to celebrate the incredible contributions and impact manufacturing makes throughout the Palmetto State."
