Wednesday, May 13th, 2020

Thomas & Hutton (T&H), a Southeast-based professional consulting, engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture firm, has been named one of the Top Workplaces 2020 in South Carolina by Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, and Charleston Business Magazine. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner, Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few. T&H’s employees in its Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Columbia, and Greenville regions participated in the survey.

On Thursday, April 30th, T&H President and Chief Executive Officer, Sam McCachern, PE; Human Resources Manager, Candice Ashley, SHRM-SCP; and Environmental Department Manager, Lisa Muzekari, PE, ENV SP participated with businesses across South Carolina in a virtual celebration of Top Workplaces. T&H ranked #12 in the small firm category, with special recognition for our benefits program.

On accepting the honor from Top Workplaces, McCachern says, “We are fortunate to have excellent people making a difference in so many communities. Thomas & Hutton is dedicated to the retention and wellbeing of our valued employees and their families, as well as their professional growth and satisfaction. We are proud of our competitive benefits package and achieve this through our wellness program, T&H Helping Hands volunteer program, and on-site professional development trainings. I would like to thank our employees for being a great team and making progress as an organization in these unchartered times”.

Of the lauded benefits program, Ashley says, “Providing zero-premium, low-deductible health insurance for employees and their families, a wellness program focused on incentivizing healthy behaviors, and generous retirement plan benefits is a top priority at Thomas & Hutton. The company’s investment in these benefits helps retain an empowered workforce, who are very satisfied with our programs.”
