TechSC and SC Cyber, initiatives of the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness, announced the launch of a new online resume bank to connect South Carolina tech talent looking for work with companies who are hiring now. Individuals with a background in a high-tech field can create a profile and upload a resume that will be made available to technology companies across the state who are looking to fill positions.
“Our partners saw a critical need to retain high-skilled workers who may have been displaced from their current job by COVID-19, and we created the COVID-19 Tech Talent Marketplace in response,” said Preston Grisham, Director of TechSC and SC Cyber at the Council. “South Carolina competes with states across the country to recruit high-skilled talent to fill important jobs in the technology sector. Even during this global pandemic, many technology companies across the state are still working to fill active job openings.”
The Tech Talent Marketplace, www.techscjobs.com, is a free site that offers a resume bank for job seekers to spotlight their skills and credentials for hiring managers as well as a company directory where tech firms can create profiles that showcase their organizations. The site helps employers make direct connections with job candidates.
“Despite the difficulties caused by the spread of COVID-19, the good news is that South Carolina tech companies are well positioned to rebound, especially if we can retain workers in the state and keep them employed” noted Susie Shannon, President and CEO of the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness. “We’re hopeful that the TechSC and SC Cyber COVID-19 Tech Talent Marketplace will be part of creating the connections that make that happen.”
