Besting national organizations such as AFLAC and the U.S. Postal Service, Tidelands Health has won a major award for its successful use of Facebook to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
The health system was named the winner of the “Facebook - Social Good Campaign” category in the 2019 PR News Social Media Awards. Tidelands Health was recognized for MyCarolinaLife.com, a platform for sharing engaging, informative and timely health and wellness information through Facebook and other digital channels.
The PR News Social Media Awards, which attract entries from some of the world’s largest and most prestigious organizations, highlight innovative social media teams, digital leaders and social media campaigns. Tidelands Health was one of only 25 winners across all categories for 2019.
Among the other 24 winners were companies such as Microsoft for “Best Blog,” Cisco for “Digital Leader of the Year,” Smirnoff Vodka for “Instagram - Best Influencer” and The Ritz Carlton for “Facebook - Best Promoted Post.”
“Winning this award is a reflection of our health system’s deep and continuing commitment to improve health and wellness in our region,” said Amy Stevens, vice president of marketing and communications for Tidelands Health. “We’re always looking for creative ways to help people live better lives through better health, and we’re proud that MyCarolinaLife.com is having a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
Honorable mentions in the “Facebook - Social Good Campaign” category were AFLAC for a campaign supporting children with cancer, Trustmark for a “week of giving” initiative and the U.S. Postal Service for its “licking cancer” breast cancer research campaign.
