Holly Hill residents gathered Thursday, March 7, at The Depot Community Center to receive information about an energy efficiency program that SCE&G, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dominion Energy, is offering at no charge to eligible residential customers in the area.
The Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program will be offered to more than 1,100 residents through April. Developed in 2013, the program was created to provide customers with on-site energy assessments, education and direct installation of energy-saving improvements. The program is available to both homeowners and renters, including manufactured homes and multi-family units.
“We’re excited to expand the program to Holly Hill residents and give them an opportunity to reap the benefits of increased energy efficiency,” said Gerald Freeman, SCE&G program manager. “Our goal is to help customers understand their energy usage, make their homes more energy efficient, and ultimately lower their energy costs which will save them money.”
Meeting attendees learned about the energy-saving improvements they will receive at no charge through the program, including:
LED light bulbs.
Kitchen faucet aerators.
Electric water heater wraps and insulation for water pipes.
Advanced power strips.
Adjustment of electric water heater temperature.
HVAC filter installation.
