Thursday, November 30th, 2017

The S.C. Disability Employment Coalition is thrilled to announce its upcoming “Disability Benefits & Employment: Make It Work for You!” Workshop on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at the Sumter SC Works Center (31 East Calhoun St, Training Room). This free workshop will focus on exploring myths about how work affects disability benefits. State and private organizations will be there to discuss the services they offer to individuals with disabilities who are interested in returning to work or increasing their earnings. After the workshop, a resource fair will be held for individuals to connect directly with community organizations. Register here: http://bit.ly/SumterDec2017.

“We are committed to educating people about their rights and the services available to support them in meeting their employment goals,” says Sandy Jordan, Director of Employment Programs with Able South Carolina. “Seventy percent of individuals with disabilities in South Carolina are unemployed, but we know from experience if we eliminate barriers to employment access, these individuals can achieve success and bring value to employers.”

“Disability Benefits & Employment: Make it Work for You!” is brought to you by the S.C. Disability Employment Coalition. The Coalition is made possible with funding from the Administration for Community Living and the S.C. Developmental Disabilities Council.

“Disability Benefits & Employment: Make it Work for You!” will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on December 5, 2017 at the Sumter SC Works Center, 31 East Calhoun St, Training Room. Interested participants can register by calling 1-800-681-7715, emailing sjordan@able-sc.org, or visiting the registration link here: http://bit.ly/SumterDec2017.
